<H2>SENIOR LEADERS ARE SAYING</H2>
<P>"I will put the young men and women of the U.S. Army Reserve up against any
branch of the United States military, in terms of their leadership, their
professionalism and their continued service."<BR><BR>-Command Sgt. Maj. Leon

<H2>TODAY'S FOCUS</H2>
<P><B>Deployment Cycle Support</B><BR><BR><B>What is it?</B><BR>Deployment Cycle
Support (DCS) is a comprehensive process that ensures Soldiers, Army Civilians,
and their Families are better prepared and sustained throughout deployments. It
provides a means to identify those who may need assistance with the challenges
inherent to extended deployments. All Soldiers deployed away from their home
station for 90 days or more are required to complete the DCS process. Services
are integrated throughout every phase of the process. Our Army Civilians and
Families are highly encouraged to take advantage of the resources
provided.<BR><BR><B>What has the Army done?</B><BR>The Army completed a
contingency plan that included a consolidated checklist and examples of
briefings to assist Commanders in helping Soldiers, Army Civilians, and Families
reintegrate into their pre-deployment environment. Throughout the DCS process
the Army has identified and emphasized several critical requirements that help
facilitate the reintegration process. Examples are the Sexual Assault Prevention
and Response Program, Suicide Awareness and Prevention Training,
Reunion/Reintegration Training, Communication with Spouses Training, and
Post-deployment Health Assessment. Originally, the DCS process began in theater
(redeployment phase) and continued at home station and demobilization sites
(post-deployment and reconstitution phases). As of Nov. 30, 2006, 474,244
Soldiers have completed the redeployment phase of the DCS process. Lessons
learned from multiple deployments are being incorporated into revised
plans.<BR><BR><B>What continued efforts does the Army have planned for the
future?</B><BR>The Army is currently integrating the DCS process into all phases
of the deployment cycle (train-up/preparation, mobilization, deployment,
employment, redeployment, post-deployment, and reconstitution). In addition,
performance metrics are being developed to analyze trends associated with
deployments.<BR><BR><B>Why is this important to the Army?</B><BR>The DCS process
directly affects the Army's recruiting, retention, and readiness efforts. The
Army is committed to the well-being of its Soldiers, Civilians, and their
Families. Soldiers and Army Civilians have responded in an exemplary manner to
the "Call to Duty." DCS is a process that enables Soldiers to successfully
reintegrate into their pre-deployment environment.<BR><BR>For more information:
